Two Drainages and Many Geese
22” x 15”
Watercolor and gouache on paper.
Original, 2021. Unframed. Hoizontal.
After the sun passes behind the near ridge, leaving the valley in sudden shadow and bringing an instant chill, the high peaks draw our gaze to their glow. The western facing slopes can still see the sun sinking; they hold the last light on their snowy faces. A skein of geese passes over Wallowa Lake, where the east and west forks of the Wallowa River meet.
