Hi, I’m Nicole.
My work is inspired by my reverence for the natural world.
I’m a self-taught artist with a background in sustainable farming and a degree in environmental science. After years of field work I realized that my greatest opportunity to help support a society that cherishes our wild places was through art (one of my oldest pastimes).
My paintings are a celebration of the stunning natural beauty that surrounds us - whether it’s an epic lineup of craggy mountain peaks, or a flock of geese crossing the morning sky over open fields. I hope my art helps strengthen your connection to our natural world by reminding you of places you love, or inspiring you to explore somewhere new.
I primarily work with watercolor and gouache on paper, both in the studio and in the field. My style combines clean lines and crisp accuracy with simplified color blocks and a feeling of fluidity.
When I’m not painting you can find me hiking, mushroom hunting, clamming, skiing, growing vegetables, or playing music with friends. I live in Joseph, Oregon. When I go “back home” it’s to Oysterville, WA, on Willapa Bay.
My logo symbolizes the camaraderie I experience in nature.
